My Favorite Exercises

My favorite exercises that we have taken in this so far has to be the relaxation exercise that was one of our initial exercise and the loving kindness exercise. The relaxation exercise was one of my favorites because it was sort of a new beginning to me. It opened me up to being able to do the other exercises and helped me to relax enough to put myself in a mind state that allowed me to complete all of the next activities. The loving kindness exercise had to be one of my other favorites because it allowed me to develop and reach a level of compassion and love that always has been beneath the surface of me. This exercise touched a part of me that I rarely show and bought that part of me to the surface. This exercise allowed me to find out where the loving-kind part of me was and how to bring that side of me to the surface. I really enjoyed all the exercises as they have taken me on a roller coaster of emotions but each exercise has taught me something individually and it is unique to see how much you can learn from the good and bad aspects of the things you do.

  1. Hey Tyler,

I think that it is so wonderful how much you are receiving from these exercises. They really are an emotional roller coaster, like you said, however they are the roller coasters of life I think we should call them. Human beings are merely more then just looks and actions, we are emotional creatures who share the same genetic codes of the universe. I agree with you on the loving kindness exercise, it was my favorite as well. I particularly liked that the exercise made you think about people you have not or not wanted to think about in a long time. It kind of gives everything that has happened in your life meaning, because it was not forgotten. I hope that these exercises will assist you in life later on and still bring the same emotions that you keep inside! I hope you had a great Christmas.

    1. Hello Steph,
You bring up such a great valid point that we, as humans, are emotional creatures. It is part of our being. So, why in our culture, do we dismiss our emotional being. Our society teaches that anger is wrong and happiness is good. Pretty much all other emotions are neglected. I believe if more Americans could take this class and tap into their emotions our country would be a lot healthier. What do you think?

  2. Hi Tyler,
I understand your statement on "This exercise allowed me to find out where the loving-kind part of me was and how to bring that side of me to the surface". It is wonderful to be able to find this part of use that has always been there just waiting for you to discover it. It is in all of us if we just tape into it. I too have enjoyed all the meditations and I will be using this one more often because it does bring me peace as well as helping me to remember who I truly am.

  3. Hello Tyler,
How wonderful that you are learning to tap into your emotional side. I was wondering if you could share just how you were able to bring the loving-kindness part of you to the surface. What exactly does that look like in you? Is there anything you are doing differently because of these exercises?
